Scholarship

The Butler County Water System continues to promote education in the water supply field and as a part of its overall community involvement efforts by offering a scholarship each year.

The scholarship is renewable for four years, as long as requirements are maintained. The scholarship program is administered by the College Heights Foundation at Western Kentucky University.

Learn More About Scholarship Requirements

    1. Application must be postmarked no later than April 1.
    2. Applicant must:

a Be a resident of Butler County.

b. Be a dependent of a Butler County Water System customer.

c. Be graduating from Butler County High School, home school, private school or any future public high school in Butler County.

d. Be enrolling at Western Kentucky University or Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College.

e. Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.

f. Complete a current FAFSA report.

g. Be seeking a degree in one of the following fields of study.

o Engineering

o Environmental Science

o Biology

o Business

o Accounting

o Chemistry

o Water Utilities Management

o Architectural & Manufacturer Sciences (Drafting or AutoCAD)

o Agriculture

o Public Health

h. Maintain one of the required fields of study throughout their post-secondary academic career to remain eligible.

3. Students who receive scholarships from other sources with total amounts equal to full tuition or above will not be eligible for the BCWS Scholarship.

4. Relatives of the BCWS staff and board will not be eligible for this scholarship.
