Logansport Tank Replacement Project 17

This project consists of the replacement of an existing water storage tank. The existing 75,000 gallon tank is a ground storage standpipe, however the new tank is a 50,000 gallon elevated tank, which will allow all of the water in the tank to be available for customer use. This will result in improved emergency storage and improved water quality. The height of the tank will also be increased to provide greater pressure to portions of the Logansport area. Bids for the construction of the tank were opened on April 15, 2010. Phoenix Fabricators of Avon, IN was the low bidder with a base bid of $283,632.00. The project is scheduled to begin in May 2010 and be complete by the end of November 2010. Funding for this project will be provided by a grant awarded by the 2008 General Assembly, therefore the project will have any effect of customer rates.

| | | Water System Improvements Project 17 |

This project consists of 44 4-, 6-, and 8-inch water lines totaling over 46,000 feet in length. Many of these lines will be used to replace very small diameter water lines which are not able to provide the high level of service that Butler Water strives to provide all customers. These lines will provide greater pressures and flow capacities. One of the water lines to be constructed will result in the addition of nearly 7 miles of fire protection along Hwy 1083 and Hwy 626 in southern Butler County. Another line will extend from the Hwy 231 Tank, located behind Butler County High School, to a point near Hwy 70. This line will increase transmission capacity and provide increased reliability to the western portion of the distribution system. Bids for the construction of the water lines were opened on April 15, 2010. United Pipeline, Inc. of Tompkinsville, KY was the low bidder with a base bid of $675,811.75. The project is scheduled to begin in May 2010 and be complete by the end of December 2010. Funding for this project will be provided by a grant awarded by the 2008 General Assembly, therefore the project will have any effect of customer rates.
